I love the challenge of photographing weddings—especially doing it in a way that works with everything else going on. For me there’s always the balance of creating beautiful pictures while also contributing to the overall experience and meaning of the day.
I love the gift of an accidental portrait filled with light and emotion…finding noble beauty hiding in humble things like hotel curtains or a simple window…the relaxed connectedness people show without thinking when they are laughing together. I love how at its best photography slows the whirlwind of a wedding and distills a moment down to its essence.
This is what I know: You don’t have to love getting your picture taken to create great pictures. So for people like Liz and Warren (a lot of my clients…and myself, frankly) who would rather be doing something else besides “standing around” getting your picture taken? I totally get it. ❤️❤️❤️
