I’ve been hearing a similar theme from clients this year: “We wanted to hire you because the people in your pictures look real.”
Best complement ever.
I can’t tell you how many people contact me apologetically because their wedding doesn’t fit some cookie-cutter mold of what a wedding is “supposed” to look like and they think I’ll be disappointed or weirdly insulted.
In the past this used to make me frustrated but now it’s just kind of inspiring. There is so much that is beautiful…so much that is interesting and moving and filled with life when you move beyond the idea that weddings (and people and love) are supposed to look one certain way.
Yes, I know, I’ve said this before but I’ll keep saying it. Because it’s true. And because there are people who still need to hear it.
In that spirit, today I’m sharing Kerry and Damien’s one-of-a-kind celebration at The InterContinental Mark Hopkins in San Francisco. I felt incredibly privileged to be able to photograph this wedding and take in all the beautiful little details and moments that made this day so unique. Hope it inspires you like it inspired me.
